Britney Spears is an American pop singer, dancer and occasional actress. Her discography includes …Baby One More Time, Oops!… I Did It Again, and In the Zone. Spears was born to parents Lynne and James Spears on December 2, 1981 in McComb, Mississippi. She has two siblings, Bryan and Jamie. Spears grew up in Kentwood, Louisiana. She attended the Professional Performing Arts School in New York City followed by Parklane Academy in Mississippi.

Spears took dance lessons, gymnastics and voice lessons as a child. She also competed and won a number of local and state wide talent shows. Her first stage performance was at her kindergarten graduation when she was 5. Spears competed on Star Search in 1992 as a singer. She landed a spot on Disney Channel’s The All-New Mickey Mouse Club later that year. The show featured other upcoming stars such as Christina Aguilera, Ryan Gosling and Justin Timberlake.
